How we work

SCROLL DOWN

How we work

We understand that every business and marketing project is different so we quote on an individual basis taking into consideration what you need and how often you need it to make it as cost effective as possible. To ensure the success of each marketing project we undertake, we follow this six-step process:

Step 1 – Project Briefing

Step 1 – Project Briefing

To do this effectively we need to find out as much information about your marketing and copywriting needs. We do this by asking the following questions:

  • Do you need regular copywriting/marketing services or will it be a once off project?
  • What do you need copywriting/marketing for?
  • What is the size, length and quantity of your copywriting/marketing project?
  • Do you want a rewrite of current content or completely new text?
  • How much content will be supplied?
  • What is your timeframe?
  • What do you want to achieve from your copywriting project?

What do you want to achieve from your copywriting project?

Step 2 – Proposal

Step 2 – Proposal

Based on the information supplied we will then develop a tailored copywriting/marketing proposal for ongoing campaigns, to meet your requirements.

We prefer to work on a project, package or retainer rate as this way you know exactly what to expect and can budget accordingly without having any last minute surprises. If the project parameters do change while we are working together, we will talk with you openly about renegotiating the project cost if need be.

All of our proposals and quotes are valid for 30 days.

Step 3 – Acceptance of Proposal

Step 3 – Acceptance of Proposal

If you choose to accept the proposal you simply need to email us the signed Terms of Engagement that you will find on the last page of your quote.

Given the nature of our work payment is required up front, for large projects over $1,500 we are happy to look at a part payment arrangement where a deposit is paid and the rest of the balance is paid upon receipt of the first draft.

Given the busy schedule of our clients and their desire to completely outsource the project, we work by phone, Skype or email.

Step 4 – Research

Step 4 – Research

In order to write persuasive copy and strategic marketing messages we need an intimate knowledge of your business, industry, target market and objectives. We do this by asking a series of questions through a detailed brief and a subsequent phone interview if needed.

The brief covers:

  • Goals and objectives
  • Business, products and services (the key benefits and your point of difference)
  • Target audience and current customers (their needs, wants and frustrations)
  • Industry and main competitors
  • Any specific calls to action you want to use
  • Any keywords (if needed)

During this process we need as much information as possible including any marketing collateral you have. The more we understand your business, the more targeted our copywriting.

As we often have access to sensitive information during this process, we are more than happy to sign a confidentiality agreement for your complete peace of mind.

Step 5 – Writing and Review (for copywriting projects)

Step 5 – Writing and Review (for copywriting projects)

Once our research is complete we start the writing process. With large copywriting projects we always send through a copy sample to ensure you are happy with the direction and tone before we write the full draft.

Often the first draft is where the most time is spent; writing and rewriting to ensure your copywriting piece will be engaging and enticing to your readers. Only when we feel it is right do we send it to you to review.

You will be emailed the draft in Microsoft Word format with the track changes feature turned on. We find many clients like to make changes and notes in the document and tracking changes allows us to see what changes have been made. If you would prefer to email or call us with changes or additions you are more than welcome to do so.

We find more often than not, our clients are happy with the first draft. Nevertheless, we include two rounds of changes in order to ensure you are completely satisfied with the end project.

Step 6 – Completed Project

Step 6 – Completed Project

Upon your final approval, we will send you the master file with any draft watermarks removed.

That concludes our process, it’s that simple.

So how long does it take?

So how long does it take?

Within the proposal we will give you an accurate timeline of how long the writing process will take, though please note that turnaround time will be greatly impacted by the amount of time it takes for you to review each draft.

We usually have multiple copywriting and marketing projects on the go so please keep in mind that it may be up to a week before we can commence your project.

If you do have a high urgency, tight deadline job please contact us directly for our availability and we will accommodate you where we can. Please note there is a higher cost for rapid turnaround projects, as they often require work outside of business hours.
